Who we are

Sunshine Kids –Musha Vana is a not-for-profit Australian children’s charity helping disadvantaged children in Australia and Africa. Founded in 2017 in Victoria, Melbourne, AUSTRALIA, has the vision that every child deserves a happy and healthy childhood. Our programs focus on empowering parents towards self dependency and minimization of formal supports via participation in community projects that are aimed at long-term goal sustainability for the parent to be fully involved in their child’s everyday life to meet their children’s basic needs.

Sunshine KIDS- Musha Vana Community Programs further develops a parents’ knowledge, skills and confidence, to help themselves understand and manage their children’s overall well-being, focusing on the child’s stability, safety and development.

MUSHAVANA’s STORY

MushaVana is an Australian Children’s Charity that was established in Australia, state of Victoria in 2017 and extending support to recipients in Africa. MushaVana is the vision of Lina Matenda, who identified a vulnerable group of children and took action to make a positive difference in their lives. Lina is a qualified Social Worker with front-line social sciences experience in the UK and Australia and having been born and bred in Zimbabwe (Africa), Lina witnessed the devastating adverse impacts of disadvantaged children and history repeating itself through generations if action is not taken. Lina believed that it was possible to bring about positive change to the lives of these children. Through her insight, passion and experience, she has raised awareness of this vulnerable group of children, with the support of numerous other supporters to including the co-founders.

And the right investment starts with Education.

Education fosters decision making skills and critical thinking. Children who attend school are taught about values, morals, and ways to solve problems. With the ability to make important decisions and consider all possibilities, children will no doubt be more successful in their personal and professional lives.

We care for children and try to assist them in areas of need, especially, Education and Health . Health is very important in a children’s upbringing, it plays a part in a child’s life.

Our Team visited Harare Hospital to better understand health facilities and the challenges they come across
